Speaking of performing arts centers, Franklin set to open grand new facility this summer

From the Asheville Area Performing Arts Center newsletter:

The Smoky Mountain Center for the Performing Arts, slated to open this July, will attract and maintain the highest professional standards for the performing arts. Located in Franklin, NC (population 3,490) the 1,500 seat  center will present a wide variety of programs to the community, including musical productions, passion plays, dance, choral festivals and more. The center, located 75 miles southwest of Asheville, is intended to nurture the development, understanding, and appreciation of the arts throughout the region.

You may be able to find out the price if you ask Phil Drake or any of the Drake Enterpirses…….may, not sure.

NewspaperJunkie, no, but I’m not sure how much it did cost. If I’m remembering correctly, it was on the order of $20 million, but I’ll check.
