Sound the snow sirens! Make preparations now for Friday, Saturday storm

Share

There’s a winter storm warning for Buncombe and several other Western North Carolina counties that goes into effect at midnight on Thursday. There’s going to be snow, then a potentially damaging ice storm.

OK, folks. We’ve got plenty of warning. This means you need to get your bread and milk now. Prepare for a potential power outage. Stay off the roads when it all starts coming down. Be safe.

By the way – how much is too much snow? I’m starting to get a little worn out by all this.

I remind all who live in Asheville – this is a normal winter. I have lived here for 40 plus years. The last ten have been "unusual". Asheville is a place that has four seasons, one of them being Winter.

I must apologize to all the citizens of Asheville. I just moved here from Syracuse in November to get away from these violent snowstorms, but it appears they have followed me. Granted, this would still be a mild winter by Syracuse standards, but I’m beginning to think I’m the Rob McKeena of snow. If Asheville gets a second winter like this next year, I’m moving to the Sahara because I hear they could use some yuck.

A single flake of snow is too much. I’m with paddy. If I never saw snow again for the rest of my life I wouldn’t miss it.

I was starting to get a little worn out by all this on Friday December 18th. I tell ya, I’m just not a fan and if I never see snow again I wont be upset.
