Some of your Moogfest 2010 questions answered

The organizers of Moogfest 2010 are answering frequently asked questions about the big new Asheville music event on the Moogfest Facebook page. Here’s what they’ve been bookfacing:

Q: Will I be free to “float” between shows if I decide that I want to move on and check something else out?

A: Certainly. That’s part of what the concept is all about. You can go see half of something and then half of something else, as long as the venue isn’t filled to capacity.

Q: So what’s up with this “first come first serve” deal?

A: We’re just giving everyone a heads up just in case…we can’t have 6000 people at Massive Attack & Thievery Corporation in the Arena, while guaranteeing everyone that they can be in the 1050 capacity Orange Peel later that night at the same time. But we don’t think they’ll want to be anyway…there’ll be a lot to choose from.

Q: WIll I definitely be able to see the main artists playing the festival?

A: You will have no problem getting in to see the headline acts at the Asheville Civic Center Arena. In fact, we really don’t anticipate you having a problem getting into anything that you really want to see…especially if you’re willing to put in a little extra effort and show up early.

Q: Will different shows be happening at the same time?

A: Yes. Moogfest is a true festival. There will be a number of events overlapping one another and even happening at the same time. While we are programming to maximize synergies and minimize difficult decisions, it is possible that you will not always be able to see everything that you want to see. But we promise an amazing value for your ticket during the weekend.

About the number of tickets being sold: we are limiting the number of tickets available in each category and are selling significantly less tickets than the combined capacities of the Asheville Civic Center Arena, the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium, and the Orange Peel. Plus, there will be additional events taking place at other venues and clubs too. We are looking to create a relaxed and enjoyable festival environment.
