Some of what was in the news on Tuesday: petition approved and ‘real life Thelma and Louise’

WLOSers had news of the following:

A Let Asheville Vote petition was approved by the Buncombe County Board of Elections on Tuesday, which means the city has to hold a referendum on the issue and also means that this fall’s City Council elections will be non-partisan… Diva Darcel said there’s a “real life Thelma and Louise” on the loose in Macon County. She showed us video tape of two woman in a grocery store shopping – they apparently used stolen checks, credit cards and I.D. to buy the goods. Were Thelma and Louise identity thieves?… Bob Caldwell’s last day on the job was Tuesday. There was awkward banter between he and Susan Mundy, who is also departing, during the noon show. Victoria Dunklehead called Bob from vacation and wished him well and they did that on the air. A bunch of WLOSers came out from the shadows to stand around Bob, and they wheeled him out a cake. John “Punnyman” Le followed Bob around all day and videotaped Bob cleaning out his desk. Bob handled it all with grace and humor.
