KNOXVILLE — AC Entertainment presents The Smashing Pumpkins live in concert at the historic Tennessee Theatre on Wednesday, August 13, 8 p.m. This appearance is the seminal alternative rock band’s first time in Knoxville.

In June and July 2007, AC Entertainment produced an unprecedented nine-night residency with The Smashing Pumpkins at The Orange Peel in Asheville, North Carolina. Tickets for the shows sold out within minutes, and helped earn the club, which has been booked by AC Entertainment since it opened, the honor of Best Rock Club by Rolling Stone magazine.

The Smashing Pumpkins have created one of the most acclaimed bodies of work in music history. Formed in Chicago in 1988, they released Gish, their influential (and platinum) debut in 1991, which was followed by more platinum and multi-platinum albums including the nine-times platinum Mellon
Collie And The Infinite Sadness and the four-times platinum Siamese Dream.
