Shake up at WWNC, Kiss Country?

Share

RadioLongAgo, a loyal Ashvegas reader, reports that Mike Stewart is out as morning man at WWNC and that Kiss Country has ousted people as well. Anybody heard anything?

We’re wondering if this has anything to do with the recent announcement that Clear Channel had agree to sell to a consortium of private equity firms and put up for sale about one third of the 1,000-plus stations it has. All the stations that Clear Channel owns in WNC are potentiall up for sale, according to the recent reports.

Watch for Matt Mittan to be shoved aside for Hannity, maybe in time for a live broadcast in the new studio.

Make that "…stealing copy and audio…"

Apparently part of whatever is going on is cutting news coverage. Kiss Country has apparently dropped news from its morning show, instead having Drew read a headline or two and then telling listeners to go to the Web site. Not that easy to do while driving, and if I’m going to go online for news when I get out of the car, it’s going to be to the AC-T and not the lame efforts on the Kiss site (no offense intended to Jerri and her news crew, but until they get the kind of online-specific resources AC-T has with Jaime and the rest of the online crew, they’ll never be able compete). It’s almost enough to make me put up with Tammy Jones’s irritating habit of stealing copy audio from the AC-T & WLOS for her news report.
