See WLOSers in High Definition

High Definition is getting closer and closer to reality for millions of television viewers, and WLOS will be right there on the bleeding edge. Here’s an update from loyal reader insider:

Just letting you know that if all still goes at planned, the WLOS HD newscasts are set to launch on September 15.  I’m not sure if the morning shows will be the launch broadcasts or if they’ll wait until the evening to do the debut.  The new set looks great by the way.

I can’t wait to be able to see all the blemishes, scars and assorted imperfections among the anchors! Seriously, this is a huge issue for tv personalities everywhere as HD really gets up close and personal. I’ll bet Russ Bowen and Darcel Grimes are really worried about how they will appear.

unfortunately, the transition to HD is limited only to the studio. word on the street is that the reporter stories will be the same until the parent company spends the $$ for HD cameras for the field… which won’t happen anytime soon.
