RiverLink petition urges ‘signature bridge’ across French Broad River

Share

RiverLink sent the following press release. I say yes, yes and yes:

Please take  a moment to fill out our petition at to cast your vote for a signature bridge across the French Broad River as part of the I-26 project.

We have collected well over 2,000 signatures  to date and now we are going digital! We want to keep collecting signatures to demonstrate that this community wants a bridge that reflects the fact that Asheville and WNC are premier arts destination.

We also want a bridge that is human scale and not just for cars and truck to use. People should be able to walk or bike across the French Broad without risking their lives. Bridges are for people too regardless of whether they are in a car,  a truck, riding a bike, or taking a stroll.

According to Karen Cragnolin, executive director of RiverLink, “this bridge will be another unique addition to the many reasons people visit our region. Let’s figure out as a community and region more ways to celebrate this wonderful resource. The bridge should be more than just a way to cross over the river.”
