It looks like the federal trial of former Buncombe County Sheriff Bobby Medford is taking its toll on Medford supporters/family.
Tuesday afternoon, Charu covered the trial. A WLOSer cameraman (was that you, Joey Flash?) was waiting for Medford to come out of court and walk down the steps to his car. You know – the usual perp walk stuff. Medford emerged with one woman helping him walk, another woman who I believe is Medford’s sister, and a dude with long hair and a camouflage T-shirt.
The woman I believe to be his sister saw the camera and immediately put up her hands, trying to block the view of the camera. The woman walking with Medford started lifting her shirt to block Medford. And the camo dude walked right up to the camera and seemed to initiate a little pushing. Medford, meanwhile, said to his crew, “He’s all right,” apparently referring to the cameraman. But Medford’s peeps didn’t listen.
Charu managed the story well – she didn’t blow out of proportion the whole courthouse steps stuff. And she delivered a little news about what went down in court.

that was me…
i wasn’t expecting a scene like that, but it sure made the day a little more interesting.
i doubt the guy in camo is affiliated with bobby medford. i had seen him milling about and exhibiting strange behaviors before the incident, and i think he just saw an opportunity to get on tv acting the fool.
all in a day’s work. thanks for watching.
