President Bush to Billy Graham: Get better, buddy

The Journal Chretien reports that President George W. Bush called the Rev. Billy Graham at Mission Hospitals and told Graham he’s praying for his fast recovery.

Graham has been in the hospital now for more than a week after three bouts of intestinal bleeding and a diagnostic colonoscopy. He’s still on a liquid diet and working to regain his strength.

The story goes on to say that the Montreat evangelist has walked a full loop around his unit and talked to hospital staff members, thanking them for their work. He’s been watching television, reading newspapers and, who knows, maybe reading Ashvegas.
