I’ve got several sources telling me that the Orange Peel’s new basement private club is going to be called Pulp, and they’ve secured their liquor license. Plans called for the club to seat about 75 people. I don’t know when the new club is set to open.
There have been other changes to the Orange Peel. The joint recently added a big “smoking porch,” changed the bar layout and was adding some removable box seats to one side of the main stage. It’s all part of an expansion plan the Orange Peel started back this summer.
Rolling Stone magazine last year named the venue a top five “best club” in the U.S., and with these improvements, it sounds like the Orange Peel will continue its track record of excellence.
