Opponents of proposed marriage amendment to N.C. constitution set up office in Asheville

There’s a big battle brewing over a proposed amendment to North Carolina’s constitution that would further define marriage as the only domestic legal union recognized by the state, which already defines marriage as between one man and one woman. Opponents of the amendment are setting up shop in Asheville:

My name is Liz MacNeil and I’m the WNC Regional Field Organizer for the Coalition to Protect ALL NC Families (www.protectncfamilies.org). We are fighting AGAINST Amendment One, and are opening up our downtown Asheville office this weekend to coincide with the “Race to the Ballot” (www.racetotheballot.com), which will be running through downtown Asheville.

I was hoping you could publicize the following event for me:

The Coalition to Protect ALL NC Families is opening up our field office in WNC!!! We’re really excited to get our Asheville office up and running and to fight AGAINST Amendment One!! Jen Jones and the RACE TO THE BALLOT (www.racetotheballot.com) team will be running through Downtown Asheville and stopping by our office to help kick it off!!! This will be a chance to meet and greet our team, register to vote, sign up to volunteer, and take in the beautiful views of the Blue Ridge Mountains from our 6th Floor office.

B.Y.O.O.S. (BRING YOUR OWN OFFICE SUPPLIES) — Since we are just moving into our office and survive by the generous contributions of the public, we will be collecting any office supply donations — we need tables, chairs, a copier, pens, files, paper clips, bobble heads, copy paper, Photoshop and InDesign Programs for MAC & PC, sharpies, lamps, decor, envelopes, stamps, refrigerator, files, cabinets, etc.
