‘Oh no. Your tire’s all flat and junk.’ Woman who voices Geico talking pot hole commercial is from Asheville

Here’s the note from loyal reader White Lightnin‘:

you seen that geico commercial with the talking pothole?

turns out the girl who does the voice is from Asheville and went to UNC-CH.

swear me in as master of the internet.

Well ain’t that some craziness? I have to say that the commercial caught my attention when I first heard it. The thick Southern accent. The “Oh no, your tire’s all flat and junk” opening line is a grabber, too.

IMDB bio

The Facebook info says that the voice talent is Dayci Brookshire, who is an Asheville native who moved to NYC when she was 10.

Like I always say: All roads lead to Asheville. Congrats to Dayci! The commercial’s gotten more than 1 million YouTube hits. Dang.

Lightnin‘, you are, indeed, the master of the interwebs. Thanks, dude.

Not only is she from Asheville, her mother taught at Valley Springs in Skyland and was the drama club director there for a few years in the late 80’s before they moved up to NYC. It would be great to see someone in the Asheville media take notice of national talents other then Andie MacDowell
