Here’s the note to me from Ed Southern, executive director of the North Carolina Writers’ Network. Email Southern at ed@ncwriters.org for more information about the conference and sponsorship possibilities.
The organization’s annual conference offers great resources to writers at all levels. Consider checking it out. I’ve attended in past years and learned much. I’ll be taking part this year as a member of a panel discussion.
From Southern:
Dear Jason –We just opened registration for the Fall Conference last week, and I hope you’ll help us spread the word to all sorts of writers in WNC. I’d also like to get your help telling folks in and around Asheville about some other things having to do with the conference and the Network. On Sunday, October 16, the Network is holding a fundraising event at Malaprop’s. “Southern Fictions/Southern Identities” will feature a reading by Kathryn Stripling Byer from her new book, Southern Fictions, followed by a panel discussion about issues of Southern history and identity. Attendees will be able to make donations to the Network, to support the Fall Conference scholarship fund, at the door and after the discussion. I hope you can be one of a good crowd for this event. I’ve attached a press release that tells you some more. We’re also offering, for the first time, opportunities to sponsor Fall Conference events. Fall Conference sponsorships are a good way for publishers, publications, creative writing programs – anyone who depends on a smart, literary-minded audience – to reach their target market. If you know of anyone or anything who might be interested, I would appreciate it if you’d let them know about these opportunities, and let me know about them. I’ve attached some more information. Thanks again for being a part of this year’s Fall Conference; I think it’s going to be an especially fun weekend. I look forward to seeing you soon.Sincerely,Ed SouthernExecutive DirectorNorth Carolina Writers’ Network
