News obit: Chuck Fisher, founder of Fisher Construction Management

Charles H. “Chuck” Fisher of Asheville died Feb. 15. Fisher, 49, had cancer:

Charles grew up in Asheville, graduating from T.C. Roberson H.S. in 1977. He was an Elite Cross-Country Runner and participated in track meets around the world. He was awarded multiple track scholarships for college.Known for his quick wit and outstanding sense of humor, he enjoyed being active and spending as much time with his family.

Charles served as Project Manager for many construction companies over the years, building hotels for Trump, Marriot, and Hilton. In 2005, he founded Fisher Construction Management, Inc., and built a prominent reputation for himself in the hospitality field. Those who worked with him knew his word was as good as gold, and that he embodied sound industry knowledge, personal integrity, and old-fashioned ethics.

A loving, faithful, and visionary soul to the end, Charles is survived by his wife, Jane, and daughter, Tess, of Boulder, Colo. He is also survived by his mother, Virginia Fisher; sisters Judy Johnston (Bobby), Carla McLendon (Charles), and Patricia Fisher (all of Asheville); Angela Wilson (Bruce) of Fayetteville; brothers Bruce Fisher (Laura) of Weaverville, and Henry Fisher (Linda) of Swannanoa, as well as by many well beloved aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
