Yup. That’s right. Anntony’s Caribbean Cafe is closing. It’s all the baristas and java junkies are talking about. They’ll be open through Bele Chere weekend, then they’re done.
It’s too bad for the Grove Arcade. Anntony’s anchors the hottest corner of the arcade. It’s always absolutely packed with people who love to sit outside on the corner to see and be seen. Anntony’s often has a band playing live music, which just adds to the ambience. It’s just a hot corner. The coffee was great and their ribs were tasty, but there was never anything about the place – except for its location – that made it stand out.
Word is that an “upscale” restaurant will take Anntony’s place. There are several new businesses moving into spaces throughout the arcade, so the whole place will have an entirely new vibe in a few months.
Good luck to the Anntony’s owners.

Not Anntony’s! This really sucks. It was a decent place to grab an inexpensive meal or a coffee and pastry if Olde Europe was too crowded. First, Bonnie’s Little Corner and now this.
