The New York-based band Caitlin Krisko and the Broadcast, a band that’s been working the Big Apple scene for about three years, has announced that it is moving to Asheville to pursue their musical career.

The band’s press says Cosmopolitan Magazine declared the band up-and-coming, and gave them one of the top three spots in the magazine’s Star Launch Competition. The band’s press says its music can also be heard in Eucerin Lotion and CapriSun commercials, and has worked out a deal to have its music aired on MTV/VH1.

Here’s what the band says on their blog:

It’s true folks- Caitlin Krisko & The Broadcast have fallen in love and are relocating to beautiful Asheville, North Carolina to focus on all things rock and roll! As a way to say thank you for all the groovy times you’ve shown us, we have one last show to offer you! We’re teaming up with the sensational SAMI.THE.GREAT and Adam Hertz & The Interns for a night chock full of rock, funk, soul, and feel good vibes. Stellar after party to follow the music- more info on that coming soon. Mark it on your calenders friends: FRIDAY AUGUST 27, 2010

Sounds like a great new addition to Asheville’s incredible music scene.

Meantime, Caitlin Krisko is trying to raise enough money to buy a band van via Kickstarter. Check them out on myspace here; and Facebook here.

As I have been telling others who plan to move to Asheville. Think about it. Rabid squirrels and weasels have been dragging off touristas lately… sometimes even before they can get out of the car or send a text or call 911.

The air quality is better in Denver, too.
