Press release here:

Blue Ridge Mountain Host, a nonprofit coalition promoting the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains as a visitor destination, has launched a new website, featuring compelling new photography, real-time updates, easier navigation, a social media section, and a more user-friendly layout.

The new site at www.ncblueridge.com combines the tourism product of the organization’s nearly 200 members, serving as a one-stop shop for information on the myriad of attractions, lodging, eateries, recreation areas, cultural offerings and other points of interest available year-round in the region. Like the previous site, it also includes an events calendar, itinerary builder, interactive map, coupons and special offers, and links to BRMH member sites as well as to the organization’s 50-page visitor guide.

Blue Ridge Mountain Host is a public-private partnership started in 1995 whose members range from restaurants to real estate agencies, spas to shopping, cultural attractions to chambers of commerce, galleries to gardens – in short, any business or organization that attracts or serves tourists. BRMH covers the area that includes Buncombe, Burke, Henderson, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, Polk, Rutherford, Transylvania and Yancey counties.

The events calendar allows anyone to contribute content on upcoming events occurring in the 10-county area that would be of interest to tourists. This feature and the new “social buzz” section, which serves as a portal for members to provide content linked to Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, will help keep the site fresh and up-to-date.
