I was sold on the 1st visit…incredibly good food. It’s so good I that on my 5th? 6th? trip back I bought my client and her boss and their colleagues for a big dinner after a long day of presentations. Everyone was impressed and were put in a good mood by the good service and great food. And I shined like a star! Thanks Chameleon Soul Food!!!

Mediocre food, terrible value. I can’t believe I paid $9 for single chicken back (1/8 of a chicken) and two meager sides. Or $10 for a 1/4 cup serving of sausage and peppers with the same sides. The only generous serving was the large corn muffin with a completely burnt bottom, served grudgingly with 1/8 teaspoon chip of butter in a plastic container that cost more than the dairy spread. Add in unfriendly service, under-seasoned food and an unattended school child jumping from empty booth to empty booth, and you’ve got a good idea why this is one local business I won’t be supporting. (BTW: they do not honor the Restaurants.com coupon I paid for and which brought me there in the first place. Bad karma all around.)

This food is terrible for southern cooking. Way too expensive, too. Gumbo with two sides $12.95 and so not worth it.
