Press release here:

Chef Jesse Roque and her husband Edson Roque, Co-Owners of Never Blue on Main in Hendersonville, and the Blue Gypsy Watering Hole in Saluda, announced today that they will be open for business beginning Wednesday, October 26. Located at 27 Broadway Street, downtown Asheville in the former Tingles Café space, Never Blue on Broadway will begin their regular schedule of Wednesdays through Saturdays, from 11:30 – 9pm, and Sundays from 10am – 3pm, with a limited menu and brunch offering.
This newest addition to the Never Blue family will have a core menu similar to Never Blue on Main, but with local additions unique to the Asheville area. Both restaurants will focus on small plates and tapas, have specialty drinks and martinis, and change their menus seasonally depending on what’s available for that time of year.
The culinary husband and wife team have been working diligently for the past eight weeks to revamp the interior of the former Tingles space, infusing bold, bright colors and as is the case in all of Chef Jesse’s restaurants, making her mark on the bar with a bright, unique mosaic design. Having an artist in the family helps; Jesse’s mom Pamela Cosner is a professional artist. Working alongside her daughter, Cosner has added her artistic statement to each venue. Cosner has been working on new paintings for Blue on Broadway. “Look for horses to gallop across the wall,” said Roque’s mom, Cosner.
Chef Jesse defines her culinary style as “Low-Mex”, an artful blend of Low Country South Carolina dishes and flavors, with Mexican traditions. The South Carolina influence was picked up when she attended Johnson and Wales University in Charleston. The Mexican traditions are influenced by her South Florida upbringing and her husband, Edson. These influences are easily recognizable in dishes like her Shrimp and Grits, Tacos Cubanos, and her signature flat breads or Cocas.
