David takes the kids out of school early. They don’t understand it.
Rico is at work all alone, calling David for help, while David is out with the kids. Rico is stuck handling the dead soldier’s funeral alone. He’s calling Vanessa for help.
Claire sells the wrecked hearse on the scene for $950. She cries.
Vanessa shows up at the funeral in her black funeral desk. She’s consoling the dead soldier’s sister, Holly. All Holly sees is a bunch of wars, 911 and “the end of everything.” Vanessa says there’s a lot of good in this world, especially thinking of her kids.
Holly isn’t buying it. So Vanessa just agrees.
Brenda, who has come to the house to take Maya, finds that George and Ruth haven’t packed the girl’s bags. They fight.
“Nate fucked Maggie the night he died,” Brenda tells Ruth as they argue.
Brenda’s water breaks. It’s too early. “No, no.” She falls to her knees in the water.
