Somehow I never made it down to Eaties, though I eat out in the vicinity with regularity. So it goes. Eaties, I’m sorry to say I never knew ye.
I’ve got another closing/moving query:
What about Diggin Art, in the Bledsoe Building next to the Westville Pub? Has that been noted on this blog or elsewhere? Did Diggin Art close? Or did they just move? I looked in the shop, and all those vintage togs are gone. There’s not a "we moved to" sign in the window or on the door.
Does Ash know?

The Ruby’s that closed was the one that took over the old IHOP building on Tunnel road. Ruby’s in Haw Creek is still open – it’s a bit of a chore to get to if you don’t know the area well, but their BBQ is great and the bar is very cool.
Noooo! I loved Eaties. Very sad. Ruby’s had good BBQ, but the atmosphere left a lot to be desired.
Good Lord, what gives? I never ate at Eaties, or Chan’s, or about 50% of the newly deceased. Recently I was beginning to feel optimistic about the scene, and did love me the BBQ place. I certainly hope that they will be replaced by non-chain places, but it seems like chains are trending higher in urban survivability these days. Blech.
Aw man.. just went to Eaties for the first time on Halloween.
Dang. Dang. Double dang.
