Watch this video, made in Asheville and clearly filmed the day people were waiting in line to get in to see Barack Obama during his recent rally here. Then you decide. Is it a cultish depiction of New Age ideals, or inspired heartfelt hopefulness.

O my dear killah, nay, nay and nay. Maybe I should have simply put that in spite of all this delicious momentum, I still ain’t takin’ no chances; nothing at all for granted. There is much at stake, even personally for me, as if this goes the wrong way I must hold my head in shame and take my leave of this once-fine country. Besides, there’s only one person in this race that could be even mistaken for being a guru.
Deborah, yes, this was the video Beck was talking about.
I don’t know what’s going on. It was playing fine last night.
Hey Ash — I flipped on the radio driving to work this morning and Glen Beck was ranting and raving about some new age, pro-Obama video on the Web from a group in NC. Could this be one and the same? I couldn’t tell since the video isn’t available anymore.
Am I reading this wrong, or does that mean Gratuitous is voting McPalin? Gratuitous? Please help me out here. Thanks!
yes, restless.
thanks for your thoughts, Gratuitous

As for me, it could have been deeply moving, what with the music and all, and indeed it was starting to give me a buzz within the first 2 minutes or so. Then stylistic repetition kicked in, which smacks to me of propaganda or even indoctrination, in spite of my belief in the sincerity of its producers. Believe me, I would love nothing more than to embrace a true guru for our time, but for once I’m letting my head guide my heart. I have an aching but timid sense of hopefulness for the first time in a long time. And I have commitment issues.
Received as a forward last week and sent it on it’s way to lots of folks. It filled me with hope but more than that- it is a positive distraction from all the negative info floating out there, coming from both sides. I don’t want hear any more about the republican machine possibly stealing the election, even though I know that it can happen. I just want to bury my head in the sand and listen to Billy Jonas sing an adult song.
