It’s spring, so it only makes sense the Blue Ridge Parkway will start tweeting.
According to the parkway’s chief of maintenance and engineering, Mike Molling, the Blue Ridge Parkway will start sending out tweets updating folks on the status of road openings and closures, since it is such a high topic of interest.
The most-visit national park site in the country has been beset by road closures since a potential landslide near Mount Pisgah last fall shut down a highly traveled route from Asheville south to Mount Pisgah and the Graveyard Fields area.
Storm damage from the snow, wind and ice storms this winter also closed many closures north of Asheville.
But as of today, Thursday, April 22 (Earth Day), most of the parkway in North Carolina is open, Molling said
