Rick Ramsey has been working for Buncombe County for more than 20 years, but as of late last week, Ramsey was out of a job. I don’t know details, and Ramsey didn’t want to talk when I called him. He said he wanted to gather some more information before talking publicly.
Ramsey was one of two environmental control officers in the county’s solid waste department who organized trash clean-ups in the county and worked with residents outside city limits to clean up their lots. There’s still a big problem with people dumping trash in rivers and into coves and such, and Ramsey worked hard on that issue.
