Asheville – The newly renovated Carolina Asheville Cinema will host a special preview of Food Inc. to benefit Evergreen Community Charter School on Thursday July 16th at 6:45 p.m.
Food Inc. is a provocative new film about sustainable food choices, showing in a limited number of theaters nationwide. The ticket price of $15.00 includes a reception, door prizes and a round-table discussion by local farming experts following the film.
Cane Creek Organics will donate a box filled with organic vegetables from its CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farm as a door prize and provide appetizers at the reception. The panel will include Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project (ASAP) director Charlie Jackson, GreenLife Grocery owner John Swan, Hickory Nut Gap owner Jaime Ager and others.
Evergreen Community Charter School is a public school of choice serving students in grades K through 8. Evergreen is an Expeditionary Learning School (ELS) and a model for teaching effective environmental education. In 2008 Evergreen was named one of the top ten greenest in America.
