Laptop’s fixed; Ashvegas is back

Share

Hey folks. Sorry for the interruption. Laptop’s been in the shop for a week. But she’s got a new hard drive and battery and looks to be all fixed up. That means it’s back to full-on blogging and making people’s teeth itch.

Need computer work done? I would highly recommend Charlotte Street Computers. They did a great job for me.

In that case then, not bad at all!

OK, for the record: I spent $151 and some changes for: back-up of info stored on the computer; new battery; new hard drive; Snow Leopard OS and installation; new somethingorother to fix my display, which had gone blank.

My computer was still under warranty, so Charlotte St. sent it off to Apple first. Apple didn’t replace the hard drive, despite the bad sector, and Charlotte St. did the rest.

I’m usually rather reserved about self promotion, but I can’t really hold back when I see things like this. I’ve owned Computer Mechanix, Inc. for 8 years here in Asheville and I don’t think we’ve ever had a computer for a week. A new hard drive and battery should have taken one to two days tops. A special order maybe three days. I’m afraid to ask how much it cost…

Welcome back! Missed you.

Arrogance and incredibly high prices do not a good business make. Apparently, however, people don’t have a reasonably-priced alternative, so Charlotte St. Computers keeps bringin’ em in.

I give them a big fat two thumbs down. =(

Welcome back! Let us know the next time you need a laptop and we’ll shoot you a loaner. A week without Ashvegas is not a good thing! – David

Doesn’t Gannett not even provide its reporters with computers?
