‘Joshua P. Warren’s Asheville Tourist Center and Free Museum’ to bring phantasmagoric delights to visitors

Joshua P. Warren, the man who has made a career out of telling ghost stories, seeking out the odd and unusual and probing the paranormal in Asheville and around the U.S., is planning to open a new tourist attraction in Asheville.

“Joshua P. Warren’s Asheville Tourist Center and Free Musuem” could open before the end of the year. It will be located the same building that houses the popular Pack’s Tavern down on Spruce Street, next to the Asheville Police Department. The spooky place once served as a county jail, and back in the day, prisoners who faced the death penalty were hung nearby.

Warren has published books of Asheville ghost stories and launched Asheville’s first ghost tour – there are several now. He leads a haunted pub crawl – perfect for beer-hungry Asheville. He leads a Haunted Biltmore tour which sounds awesome. (“Spend your evening learning about the weird Nazi occultist who opened a portal there… the kangaroo that appeared from another dimension… an insane asylum that will make your blood run cold…) And he’s the main man behind the League of Energy Materialization and Unexplained phenomena Research.

Warren will use the new center to sell his tours. (He recently launched a new Underground Asheville tour that explores the city’s subterranean basements and drainage systems.) But the center will also have some exhibits of the ghoulish and weird. Warren has always been one helluva promoter and storyteller, so I can only imagine what he’ll put on display. He’s never been one to shy away from controversy, either, so expect him to push the envelope.

Can’t wait to learn more.
