John Lennon Education Tour Bus will make appearance at HATCH Asheville

The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus and acclaimed singer-songwriter Matt Morris will be joining the second annual HATCHfest Asheville, April 15-18, 2010. Presented by HATCHfest Asheville sponsors’ 98.1 The River and Creative Allies, The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus is a non-profit 501(c)(3) mobile audio and HD video recording and production facility.

Working together with some of the biggest names in music, the Lennon Bus encourages students to play music, write songs, engineer recording sessions and produce video projects using the latest audio, video, and live sound equipment. Tours and demonstrations will be made available to the public on Sunday, April 18th from 12pm-7pm. Downtown location to be announced.

 In addition, one musician or band will have the opportunity to be a HATCHfest Asheville’s Music Groundbreaker. The selected Groundbreaker will receive the opportunity to work one-on-one with singer-songwriter Matt Morris by recording a song and music video on the John Lennon Educational Bus – and then have the opportunity to perform at a special Matt Morris concert during the festival weekend. 

Matt released his chart-topping debut album, “When Everything Breaks Open” in January 2010. The record has received critical acclaim, radio airplay and has earned him several television spots, including The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the George Lopez Show and David Letterman. Matt has toured extensively with such artists as the Indigo Girls and Joan Osborne and has been featured at the Bonnaroo and Austin City Limits Music Festivals. Matt is one of music’s most renowned songwriters. His songs have been performed by Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguillera and Kelly Clarkson. 

HATCH Asheville is a non-profit 501 c (3) organization that promotes education through mentorship. The second annual HATCHfest Asheville will take place in key venue locations throughout downtown Asheville. Across the seven disciplines, Film, Journalism, Architecture, Fashion, Photography, Music and Design and Technology, there will be free to the public interactive workshops, panel discussions and exhibitions during the day, and ticketed screenings, concerts and networking events in the evening.

In addition to promoting the philosophy of mentorship, HATCH fuels the creative economy by allowing professionals to cross-connect within varying industries.
