Introducing the Big Belly

Share

We were wandering around downtown Ashvegas the other day and lo and behold, look at what we found – the Big Belly solar-powered trash compactor. How cool is that?!

This unobstrusive green box sits in the shadow of the Miles Building, quietly ready to eat your trash. It’s reflective solar panel serves as both a mirror and a sponge, soaking up rays and reflecting its surroundings. We haven’t heard any announcement from the city of Ashvegas – are they installing these all over town? How much do they cost? How, exactly, do they work?

Great idea. Can’t wait to learn more.

I was just gonna mention that! Its hillarious.

It probably went something like this:

"Dude…where are we putting this trash thingy again"

"Fuck if I know…just put it down in the shade over there…it’s kinda hot out here and I don’t wanna sweat"

"Yeah…true that. Also I love jam bands!" (that last part probably never happened, but screw asheville jam bands anyway)

Ahh asheville. Where Political correctnes and unecessary Beurocracy creating a crippling cycle of nothing.

I’m just suprised Bellamy didn’t make us go throw 13 planning commitee meetings before placing the trash can.

Excellent point, Cecil.

Idea looks great, a solar powered compactor which should reduce frequency of dumps thus saving fossil fuel on dump truck.

But, the location? Having lived off the grid for over 20 years on photovoltaic power I am WAY aware of shade.

As Ash said, this one is located in the shade of the Flatiron. I wonder if the installers read the manual?
