Press release here:

On Thursday, April 1  TARTUFI, San Francisco’s indie rock juggernaut, will bring their explosive and beautiful live show to Static Age Records in Asheville as part of their spring US tour. On this night the most powerful duo since thunder and lightning will mesmerize local music fans with their epic, elegant sound.

Tartufi is touring the US and Europe in support of their latest release, THE GOODWILL OF THE SCAR (Southern Records). Recorded with the band’s long time musical ally, Tim Green (The Fucking Champs, Joanna Newsom, Monotonix, Citay, etc…) the album is another massive step forward for a band known for their complex yet beautifully constructed songs and with a long history of musical risk taking.  TGOTS consists of one twenty-seven minute song entitled, The Butterless Man- an epic musical tale of one person’s quest for safety in a harsh and unforgiving world. Tartufi, the “two that sound like twelve” (Mojo Magazine), will be playing most all of The Butterless Man each night on this US tour — an event not likely to be repeated in future tours and therefore not to be missed.

Tartufi has been a fixture in the San Francisco music scene for years now (voted Best Indie Band and Best Live Show by the San Francisco Bay Guardian) and have steadily been positioning themselves as an international act with the promise of becoming one of the more significant bands of their generation. Their last album, Nests of Waves and Wire, received glowing reviews from critics and bloggers around the globe (putting Tartufi atop of many Best of 2009 lists) and their relentlessly intense live shows leave audiences awestruck. This will surely be one of the most memorable performances you will witness this year and a rare opportunity to catch Tartufi while they are still playing small rooms.
