Goodbye, Sugar Momma’s Cookies

Share

February’s brought its usual share of restaurant closings, but here’s some unexpected and sad food news: Sugar Momma’s, the local cookie bakery run by food entrepreneur Jaime Hadnagy, is closing down after nearly eight years in business.

Hadnagy closed her brick-and-mortar bakery and shop near The Green Sage downtown a few years back, moving to cookie delivery and sales to local shops all over Asheville, including City Mug, Malaprop’s, Battle Cat and more. Her oversized cookies came in varieties including oatmeal raisin peanut butter, triple chocolate, and vegan banana maple walnut.

Here’s the message from the Sugar Momma Facebook page today. Boo:

You’ve gotta know when to hold ’em and when to fold ’em. It looks like it is time to fold ’em. Today was the last day of Sugar Momma’s. I am closing down. Thank you so much for all your love and smiles
over the past 7 1/2 years. ♥

We’ll miss the cookies, Jaime. Best of luck on your next venture.

Boo.
