Ghostbusters on the radio

I’ve never quite known what to think about Joshua Warren, Ashvegas’ self-proclaimed ghost hunter. I’ve watched him grow up from over-zealous high school hucksterism to author, tour guide and self-annointed expert on all things that go bump in the night around here.

Warren is getting some new press now about his new tours around town. Check out the XPress story here. And a radio broadcast he’s been doing for about five months, “Speaking of Strange,” is going to be streamed live on the Internet Saturday’s from 7-9 p.m. Go here for the link.

Here are the numbers to call: Toll free, 800-570-9962; or locally, 240-9962. The topic for the next show – time travel and teleportation. The guest will be Tim Swartz, a producer and writer.

As I said, I don’t know what makes Warren an expert, other than the fact that he’s spent a lot of time looking into this stuff, and put together some interesting stories. I’ve no clue as to whether any of this stuff has been proven. Mostly, it seems to be just good, scary fun, like the story of the Pink Lady at the Grove Park Inn or the stories about the Brown Mountain Lights.

He’s turned it all into quite a little cottage industry. He’ll be taking tour groups to “haunted castles” in Ireland sometime soon. He founded L.E.M.U.R., the League of Energy Materialization and Unexplained phenomena Research. He sells little plastic dohickies that detect ectoplasm. And he’s constantly hawking his books.

Who knows, maybe some day he’ll stumble across an honest-to-goodness ghost.

Warren’s team made the cover of a bona fide science journal. See http://www.ElectricSpaceCraft.com
