A gallon of gas on my street hit $3.63 over the weekend, up about 5 cents from where it had been. Mountain Xpress has press release here from ashevillegasprices.com that says gas is up nearly 9 cents over the last week.

As much as it hurts to type it, fuel here in the US is still well below what the rest of the world pays. We have been spoiled, well, rotten.
It be equitable with the rest of the world when it his $5 to $6 a gallon.
Of course it hurts the wallet/purse, but higher gas costs are the only way to encourage people to use alternative transportation (carpool, bus, bike, walk). Like Jep stated, gas prices elsewhere in the world are much more expensive, and alternative forms of transportation are used more frequently. Now's the time to start looking at other options!
Compared to much of the rest of the world (like Europe) our gas prices are quite reasonable.
Yes! Thanks Jen!
You sure you didn't mean $3.63?
