From Portlandia to Asheville: Carrie Brownstein spotted on streets of Ashvegas

Carrie Brownstein, star of the IFC hit TV show Portlandia and former member of the band Sleater-Kinney, was in Asheville a couple a days ago, according to the Mountain Xpress Twitter feed @mxeat.

My anonymous sources inform me that Carrie Brownstein from Portlandia just left the Admiral. She dug her food #ofcourse #avleat

Portlandia sends up the liberal, hipster, progressive lifestyle and fine fashion. Lots of folks have commented that the show, set in Portland, could just as easily have been set in Asheville.

She was in town to play a show with her band Wild Flag at the Grey Eagle. At the show Brownstein was talking about baseball , asking if there were any Asheville Tourist team members in the crowd (there weren't. She said she wanted the whole team there next time), and then asked where they should go to breakfast the next day. The crowd told them The Sunny Point, and I know people that actually saw them there in the morning, so I guess they took the advice! The show was amazing. I think their album comes out in August.
My shots from the show.

Probably because the band Wild Flag, in which she plays, had a show at the Grey Eagle.
