Flogging Molly in Asheville to record new album for 2011 release

Share

The street-punk band Flogging Molly is in Asheville to record music. The California-based band that powers through Irish tunes in a rock-n-reel kinda way has built a reputation as one of the best live bands around.

The band has already had an appearance at Jack of the Wood. I’ll be keeping my ears open for word of another local performance.

Loyal reader Carol points me to this, from the band’s website:

Flogging Molly spent the last three months in Detroit, MI writing songs for the follow up to their acclaimed 2008 release Float. The band is currently in Asheville, NC recording with producer Ryan Hewitt (Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Avett Brothers, and Flogging Molly ‘Float’). Songs from the upcoming Spring 2011 release will be performed during the Green 17 Tour.

Please do keep your ears open for any future local shows. I love these guys and I'd love to hear 'em play a small venue!

Too late. As far as I know they left town yesterday.
