On Thursday, March 10, 2011, FANATICON2 organizers will appear on Local Edge Radio with Blake and Lesley on 880AM The Revolution and on Take a Stand with Matt Mittan on WWNC 570AM to reveal the name of the special guest for this year’s event.
FANATICON2, a convention for fans of comic books and pop culture, will take place on Saturday, May 21 (10:00 AM – 6:00 PM) at the Asheville Art Museum. Last year’s special guest, Marvel Comics exclusive artist Butch Guice, was featured in a presentation in the Diana Wortham Theater, then met with fans and signed comics. This year’s special guest presentation will follow a similar format.
Organizers aren’t giving any hints as to who this year’s guest will be, but promise it will definitely be a crowd pleaser. FANATICON2 event coordinator Chance Whitmire said, “We’re really excited to bring this kind of talent to Asheville. It’s a great opportunity for fans to interact with an industry professional. Also, for selfish reasons, I have a big stack of comics I’d like to have signed.”
The special announcement will take place at 5:15 PM on Local Edge Radio (880AM) and at 5:35 PM on Take a Stand (570AM). Clear Channel Asheville (880 the Revolution, Rock 104.9, and WWNC 570) is the exclusive radio media partner of FANATICON2.
