Thanks for posting this. The group Mountain Sculptors is a non-profit association of professional sculptors/artists (some are painters, too) creating three-dimensional work in Western North Carolina. This is their sixth annual exhibition at Vadim Bora Gallery. Takes place every year around November/December.

Exhibitions are themed. This year it’s both themed and juried. Works are from small to medium-scale for the most part and in a variety of media, from glass, paper, and clay to wood, ceramics, bronze, and other metals. Also a variety of work from abstract to figurative. Always lots of fun and food for thought.

It usually took place starting in Sept and ran into the fall months. It was cancelled this year. I hope it happens again in West Asheville. I doubt it will ever be in Woodfin again.

Lana, you’re saying this event has been cancelled? Or that the display was cancelled at Reynolds Mountain? Thanks.

It was cancelled this year. What a huge mistake in moving it to Woodfin (without a river). It was a nice addition to the West Asheville park, but the move to Woodfin was a sell-out by the organizers to the developers of Reynolds Mtn. and other corporate sponsors. In the end, I heard that the developers didn’t think it helped their efforts and werepretty unhappy with the couple who were arranging it. Not a real surprise here since the City of Asheville and the Parks Dept. had issues as well

Whatever happened to the River Sculpture Festival – the one that moved to Woodfin – without a River?
