Everybody pile on, it’s National Pounce on Ashvegas Week!

Share

Fresh off going 12 rounds with Citizen-Times columnist John Boyle after his Monday sneak attack, Ashvegas once again has been targeted. This time the hunters are the brains behind the fiendishly funny Asheville Disclaimer.

In today’s Mountain Xpress, the Disclaimer takes aim squarely at Ashvegas in a right-on parody that leaves me speechless. In a faux sample Web page, the Disclaimer has me posting yet again about the Asheville Citizen-Times. A sample:

I previously reported the rumors, but now it’s official, according to this week’s E&P: Gannett officially sucks. Just like I told you months ago when I quit the C-T. Also, just like the last time I reported that Russ Bowen on WLOS mentioned that they sucked (one week after i first reported it, here). Meanwhile, the sucktacular newspaper has yet to publicly acknowledge what is happening negatively on their own front and I am forced to rely on E&P and my friends who also hate Gannett to back up what I have already told you, and reiterate what we already know, which is that Gannett sucks.

Click above to go read all the comedy gold. Score one for the Disclaimer. They got me, but good. They really punched my ticket. They nailed me, down to my Avett and Andie crushes. Damn funny stuff.

In the meantime, I’ll keep blogging on sucktacular newspapering and all the other Ashvegas goings-on. Ha!

The Sesame Street gig can’t be far off.

David Gantt is against Gannett!

I’m jealous. That is an awesome compliment. To be the subject of a satire is almost as good as being asked to guest star on "Sesame Street"

Gottcha Good. Very, very funny. Hey, they spent some eyeball time at your blog to get to know so much. Really a hoot.

Ha! Those naughty Disclaimer kids! They got Mad Tea Party (and a bunch of other local bands) last week. Nothing is sacred! (Nice to see you last night).
