Well, folks, here we are. The big day. Election Day.
We’ll try to post updates throughout the day to keep you up to date on what’s going on. We’ll provide you with instant punditry, whackadoo analysis and our fair share of skewering. All in the name of good fun, of course.
First thing we’re hearing this morning: lots of people voting for one or two of the Ashvegas City Council candidates, but not all three. If this is indeed a trend, it will have key implications for the third- and fourth-place finishers.
We’re sure that Holly Jones and Carl Mumpower will make it through – that’s just our prediction, of course, personal politics aside. (Same with our prediction of Joe Dunn winning mayor – some readers seem to believe that is what Ashvegas wants to happen. To be clear, we are simply stating who we think will win.)
So there’s Jones and Mumpower. But it starts to get messy as you move down the line. Robin Cape did very well in the primary, so she’s strong. Bryan Freeborn has been on frickin’ fire lately, so he’s strong. Chris Pelly did well four years ago and has the support of Councilman Brownie Newman and his forces.
So that’s a lot of hemp-wearing hippies trying to decide how to cast a couple of votes.

So how DID you vote, Ash?
And I’m wearing organic cotton today.
