That’s the question raised by a couple of recent online postings by the folks at Barley’s Taproom & Pizzeria. The story goes that a woman shot a photo at one night at Barley’s two years ago, a photo that she claims captures the image of a girl that wasn’t standing there. She says Barley’s workers told her at the time that they’ve seen or sensed unusual activity.
The woman says she feels the girl’s name is something like Monica or Morgan Sinclair or St. Claire. And she says she consulted with a psychic, who urged her to check out old obituary records because a girl with that name may have died in Asheville in 1876 or 1886.
Then, just a day or so ago, Barley’s tweeted that the girl ghost was seen again. It sounds like they’re taking this seriously.
Here’s a link to the woman’s full story, posted on Barley’s page on Facebook. Here’s a link to the woman’s photo.
So, do we have a Christmas ghost on our hands? Does anyone have any other clues? This sounds like a case for Asheville’s own ghostbuster, Joshua P. Warren. I’ll see I can enlist his services.
