Lots of folks may be thinking about hibernating this winter, but not the folks organizing next year’s HATCHfest event. The networking festival for anyone interested in creative endeavors such as fashion, architecture, music, design, technology and journalism will be held again in Asheville in April.
The committee putting together the 2011 edition of HATCH have been working with Asheville’s Big Bridge Advertising to rebrand HATCH and put the focus back on taking action – take all the good ideas and good intentions and put that to work.
The rebranding process has resulted in a new logo. But beyond that, the Asheville folks are working with the folks in Bozeman, Montana, to consolidate HATCH into one overall organization. HATCH has been established in Bozeman for years, and three years ago gave the go-ahead for Asheville’s sister-HATCH.
Beginning in January, there will be just one HATCH website, www.HATCHexperience.com.
Sounds like some exciting developments for this still-new Asheville festival, one that really could be a signature event for us. Last year’s HATCH seemed to suffer a little bit of a sophomore slump, but the energy appears on for HATCH 2011.
HATCH is a nonprofit and it needs sponsorships and donations to succeed. Without financial support, the event can’t grow to become the creative local catalyst that it has the potential to be. Check it out, and watch for more updates.
One last note: look for a spectacular fundraising event in January.
OK, one more note: HATCH got a great write-up last month in SPIN magazine.

There is indeed a lot happening at HATCH. Thanks for the great updates. One really important thing that we are trying to communicate is that our organization and our events in Asheville and Bozeman are just called HATCH. (It's not really a festival in the traditional sense so we're dropping the word "Fest." HATCH is more like a summit of mentoring in the creative industries … or a innovative cross-pollination experience). Think of HATCH like you think of TED. People will attend HATCH. And while there, they will participate in HATCHing something extraordinary.
