PHOTOS: Catawba Brewing’s new Asheville tasting room, open today

Share

Catawba Brewing officially opened its new temporary tasting room to the public today. It is located in Biltmore Village on Brook Street. Check out these photos from Thursday’s soft opening. You’ll see views of the inside set-up, the outside, and a couple of shots of the site where the new brewery is going to be built.

Catawba anticipates that the tasting room will be open for about six to eight months – the length of time it expects for the construction of its new boutique brewery a stone’s throw away on Fairview Road (almost right across the street from another Asheville craft brewery, French Broad Brewing.) Billy Pyatt (co-owner) is one of the best people you’ll ever meet and head brewer Kevin Sondey is a fantastic brewer. These folks are making some of the best beer in Asheville and it’s nice to have them a little closer than Morganton.

Hard to believe they started out in a room underneath the winery in Glen Alpine. Good for them – they’re huge now.
