New bar in downtown Asheville, Tiger Mountain Thirst Parlour, now open

Two of Asheville’s most well-known bartenders officially opened their own drinking establishment Wednesday night at 103 Broadway.

Sean Bickford, voted favorite bartender by Mountain Xpress readers in their annual Best of WNC poll, and Jamie Hepler, a former bartender who performs in the local band Soft Opening, said this morning that they threw the doors open quietly on Wednesday night. The guys were a bit bleary-eyed, so it must not have been that quiet. But they’re up and running.

The bar, just up the hill from Rosetta’s and Loretta’s in the old Smashing Guitars location, will include two floors, but the upstairs isn’t ready yet, Bickford said. Sprinklers and such. But the main floor and its funky decor is all set. Check it out.
