Asheville Pizza & Brewing on Coxe Avenue expanding w/ new venue

Asheville Pizza & Brewing Co. owner Mike Rangel says he’s planning to create a multi-use venue at 66 Asheland Avenue, a vacant 8,900-square-foot building that can seat 250 people. The building property backs up to Asheville Pizza’s location on Coxe Avenue, and Rangel says the two locations will be connected with a walkway.

Rangel says he the new venue, which he is calling The Slice right now, could be used for everything from small electronic dance music concerts to wedding receptions and salsa dance nights. And beer events, of course.

Work to get the new building up to speed should be completed before the end of the year. After that, Rangel said he’ll try various uses and let the building tell him what its best use will be.

Stay tuned, and read more in a story I’ll have in Sunday’s Asheville Citizen-Times.
