Just a few photos collected recently of demolition and renovation projects around Asheville. The top photo is the renovation work of the building between Fiore’s restaurant and Arcade on College Street. Work inside has been happening for a few weeks. Word on the street is that the place is going to be a pool hall.
The second photo is of demolition work on S. Lexington, behind the now-closed Hot Dog King.
Not pictured – the former Dave Steel building on Clingman Roberts Street. It’s gone.

Not minor, Ashevillain. Thank you for correcting.
Just to reiterate (as I commented on your other post). The Dave Steel property's address is on Roberts St. not Clingman Ave. They also own the small triangular shaped parcel across Roberts St.
I know this could be seen as a minor detail to some but as a journalist you should want your information to be complete and accurate.
check out the renovation at the market place restaurant on wall st. too.
I thought it is temporary parking while they work on the new project.
Weaver, it's going to be a city parking deck.
It'll be a short trip to the pokey for the clientele of another Corner Pocket.
Any word on what is going in the S. Lexington space? It looked like the city did the demolition and is now working on it.

That's a great shot, Clark. Thank you for posting!
Here's an image I made last year from the roof of one of the buildings, now demolished, behind Hot Dog King. Feel free to delete this comment if you think it's spammy; just trying to add a bit to the thread. 🙂
