CX-1

CX-1 is probably the worst name for a band we’ve ever heard. But they rocked the Grey Eagle Saturday night. I can’t describe their music – they played a bluegrass tune, a reggae tune and a jam band tune as I watched them. So I have no idea how to explain to you their sound. Bottom line – they were great.

From Internet Archive:
CX-1 is composed of former members of the Snake Oil Medicine Show and Acoustic Syndicate.

From http://www.sonicbids.com/band/cx1/:
CX-1 Is One Of The Best Examples Of Modern Fusion Music. As a Progressive Roots Power Quartet, the dynamic between Jay Sanders, Andy Pond, George Pond and Billy Seawell is an equal union. Spreading the music and message of universal harmony, these four travelers have been at the epicenter of Western North Carolina’s progressive acoustic movement.

Discovering combinations of World Beat, Reggae, Rock-N-Roll and Americana, CX-1’s textural compositions and three-part harmony continue to expand musical boundaries.

Sweet picture. I was sitting right in front of the drummer on the couch. Yes it’s true. They kicked some serious ass.
