CrossFit Asheville cranks up new classes for beginners (psst win a T-shirt here)

You’ve probably heard me talk about CrossFit Asheville. The fitness program routinely kicks my ass, and I love it. I go back for more. I can’t stop. Ask anyone who gives it a try, and they’ll tell you it’s a challenge, but it gets results.

I love CrossFit Asheville, and I love my CrossFit crew of coaches in Corey, Shanna and Randy. They’re awesome.

I say all this so you know where I’m coming from. I want these guys to succeed (they already are) and prosper.

What is CrossFit? From their Web site:

A complete fitness program unlike any other. Guided coaching, a community atmosphere, and constantly varied workouts excel at meeting any fitness goal.

What’s new? CrossFit Asheville’s On Ramp Program, a six-week course to get beginners up to speed. More from them:

the program is designed to familiarize beginners of ALL ability levels with CrossFit fundamentals and allow a progressive introduction to the intensity levels of CrossFit training. Participants will be prepared for a smooth transition into CFA’s group classes upon completion.

The beginners program starts Sept. 14. You get five free sessions, then you can decide if you want to move forward. You need to put down a $50 deposit to save your spot in the class. I’ll give you a free women’s CrossFit T-shirt if you tell me, in the comments on this post, what exercise is pictured in the CrossFit Asheville web site’s banner at the top of the page.

Aww, somebody beat me to it! It’s an overhead squat/dead lift. Are there any more shirts left?

Combine Annette’s and Jane’s answers to get the most accurate response of overhead squat.

Thanks for all support Jason!

I think in Crossfit land that’s an overhead squat. Don’t know if there are any shirts left but I would love one if there are. I started CF this summer in Washington and can’t wait to try it in Asheville.

Annette Racer and Jane, I’ll send you both T-shirts. I’ll throw in a few other goodies just for fun. Email me at sweetashvegas@hotmail.com and we’ll figure out how to get the tees to you. I can mail ’em or, if you’re around downtown, feel free to pick em up.

Thanks for responding! And give CrossFit a try!

Ummm…I want to say a ‘Squat’ but my hubby calls it a ‘dead lift’.

Overhead shoulder press is the exercise in the banner.
