Grove Corner Market holding naming contest
Winner to receive $100 gift certificate
To go with its new neighborhood and digs in West Asheville, the Grove Corner Market is looking for a new name and letting the public decide with a “Hello, Our Name Is” contest running December 9 through 29. The winner – who will be chosen by the staff and notified on New Year’s Day – will receive a $100 gift certificate for the grocery store and deli.
“We really love being in West Asheville,” says co-owner Rosanne Kiely. “It’s very important to us to be a part of this neighborhood and for the neighborhood to be a part of us. Giving folks a chance to name their market is really exciting and a great way for us to start the New Year.”
Visitors to the store can suggest as many names as they want, and entries will be displayed throughout the store and at www.thegrovecornermarket.com. The staff will also post their favorites on the store’s Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Asheville-NC/Grove-Corner-Market/63801175777) and Twitter account (@grovecorner).
The Grove Corner Market moved to 771 Haywood Road in West Asheville last June, after residing in the Grove Arcade for six-and-a-half-years.
“We just celebrated our seventh anniversary on December 5, so now seems the perfect time to officially make ourselves part of the West Asheville community,” says Kiely. “The new name will appear everywhere, including in a new logo, on signage, on the website – everywhere you currently see The Grove Corner Market, you will see our new name. I can’t wait to see what people come up with; it should be a blast.”
