And do I detect a creeping sense of COMMERCIALISM into this blog? Yes, Ash…I think I do. I do not approve.

Considering the wealth of artistic talent in this area, getting a new masthead designed would seem to be like shooting fish in a barrel! Come on Ash, open it up to the people and lay down the gauntlet!
Dude, you have a nice little blog here…..some interesting stuff sometimes. But, this new page looks kinda crappy and bored. I liked the older one with the cool pics of the Las Vegas sign made into Asheville. You should def think about going back to that one…..it was your identity. This new one is lame!!

Listen to your readers, dude. They like change in their politics, but not in their blog mastheads. Last time you tried to change the blog, you got the same reaction!

I understand the need to start new- usually I do it with my hair or my computer. You have your awesome blog. It is subdued though.
I might have been right about NC Ash.. looks like it! We lost Madison by like 175 votes. š I could go on and on…

Last night I was elated, but this morning the elation had deflated when I realized how much work is needed to fix the mess. My two co-workers are ultra conservative, and based on their comments it seems they will relish a failed Obama presidency. However, I think the Dems will stop being whiny and ineffective with a strong leader, who isn’t concerned with pandering and coddling. There is light at the end of the tunnel, but the tunnel is more like an elevator shaft.

I have to agree with Rich Holt….I liked the old site layout with the "Welcome to Ashevegas" picture…it was very original. This new one is bland, colorless and boring. Sorry buddy.

Ash, saw you taking pics last night at the crowne, I didnt get a chance to come up and introduce myself, maybe one of these days. What a fun place to be last night! Cheers
Tried twice to post to my response on my own website, black page and nothing.

Ash, A couple of comments. First, I think you have a good blog…always enjoyable and much better than the Citizen Times.
(1) The new masthead is so bland and boring. The previous one was much better and better established about Asheville and WNC. This minimalist one just doesn’t cut it. Please rethink this cause the new one is just so borrrring!
(2) Had expected you to be fully up and running on the day after the election. Time’s a wasting and I thought you would have posted lots and lots of new material……earlier…..much earlier.
Your readers are counting on you. Wake up, Ash! Wake Up.
The blogosphere never sleeps!!!!

I, for one, am very happy with the results in NC and on the national scene. And Obama, oh, yeah, Obama. Good on ya’ mate.
Now comes the hard part. Making it work. God help ’em. We’ve got a lot of messes to clean up left by the reign of the lame ducks. Then there’s the issue of energy, global climate change, our standing on the world stage.
I do not envy them. But I will try to help in my own way. It all starts with us.

Yesterday a friend sent me something blogged on the Greenville News site. It somes up how we came to this historic event in history. Nothing else needs to be said except never forget the last eight years. Please don’t forget the last eight years.
Only hours away from a giant flushing sound as republicans are sent down the drain into the giant cesspool of failure. The disasters that the republicans have brought upon our great nation are unparalleled. Not since Lincoln started the Civil war has the nation been so divided. The lies republicans have told are too many to list in this short space, and yet the faithful, the religious right still believe. Five trillion in deficit spending, an open ended war in Iraq that has proved to be unnecessary, and the worst depression since the 1930’s are part of Bush’s legacy (republicans). Change is in the air as record numbers of voters turn out to help flush republicans down the drain. We can only hope it’s not too late to repair the damages the republicans and Bush have done to America. Bush should be tried for treason for his failure to uphold and protect the U.S. Constitution.
